As managing partner of the firm, Reed assists individuals with planning for their financial and income tax responsibilities as well as for retirement and for wealth transfers. With over thirty-five years of experience as a CPA, Reed works with business owners to help them with their financial reporting and income tax concerns. He also specializes in individual income and estate planning and taxation and in business taxation and financial reporting. He has worked extensively with financial and service companies, contractors and consulting firms, country clubs and not-for-profit organizations. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and is an active member of several local community service organizations. Reed also serves on the board of the Santa Barbara Estate Planning Council.
REED S. SPANGLER, CPA
Jane has been a member of the firm since 1988 and a partner since 2003. She specializes in small business, real estate, and restaurant accounting. She oversees the small business portion of the firm’s practice, including compilations and reviews as well as payroll, sales tax, 1099 preparation and other informational filings. Jane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of AICPA, CSCPA, the American Society of Women Accountants and MENSA. Jane is the treasurer of board of both the Girsh Park Foundation and the Pacific Pride Foundation. In her spare time, she enjoys Hendry’s Beach with her dog, Ziva.
JANE E. RUSSELL, CPA
Bill has over twenty years of income tax and audit experience. His auditing concentration is in the area of country clubs and private foundations, assisting with both audit and exempt organization return compliance. He completed his undergraduate studies at Willamette University in Oregon and his Master of Business Administration degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He serves currently as CFO of the Ann Jackson Family Foundation and as Treasurer of the AYSO Region 180 and of the Santa Maria Fairpark Foundation, and has previously served as treasurer for the Dunn School in Los Olivos and other local nonprofits.
WILLIAM L. JACKSON, CPA
Vanessa is a partner with the firm and has over 10 years of audit and tax experience. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics with Accounting Emphasis from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She became a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 2009. She is the firm’s United Way Representative, currently Board Treasurer for a locally owned Corporation and for a local not-for-profit, La Cumbre Foundation, and on the finance committee for the Moxi Museum. Vanessa is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of CPA’s (CalCPA).
VANESSA M. GARCIA, CPA
Travis is a manager with the firm and has over fifteen years of experience in the areas of audit and tax. Travis graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Economics (Emphasis in Accounting) and Political Science. He became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in 2005 and a Certified Financial Planner professional in 2006. He is a member of the AICPA and the California Society of CPA’s. Travis is currently serving as Treasurer of the Adsum Education Foundation and has formerly served as President of the UC Santa Barbara Alumni Association, Treasurer of Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, counselor for Camp Ronald McDonald, and a Santa Barbara Foundation Katherine Harvey Fellow.
TRAVIS J. WILSON, CPA, CFP
Howard B. Atkinson has been a CPA since 1973. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1970 from San Fernando Valley State College. He has been working as a CPA in the Santa Barbara area for over 40 years and has been a Tax Supervisor with the firm since September, 2006. Prior to joining MacFarlane, Faletti & Co. LLP, Howard was a partner with a small Santa Barbara CPA firm.
HOWARD B. ATKINSON, CPA
David is a supervisor and has been a member of the firm for over 10 years, specializing in the areas of tax, payroll, court accounting, and compilations. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He is an advanced certified proadvisor with Quickbooks, and enjoys helping clients with Quickbooks problems. He serves on the board of directors at the Buellton Senior Center, and appreciates being able to help give food to the hungry of all ages in the city of Buellton. He also participates in the Christian Business Men’s Connection in both Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley. He is married to Emilie and they work at loving the six children they have between them.
DAVID E. LEHMAN, CPA
Diane M. Ravenscroft has over eighteen years of audit, tax and private accounting experience. Since earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from University of Washington, she has worked in boutique CPA firms in Santa Barbara, Orange County and the Reno/Tahoe area. In addition, she served as Controller of a technology-centered start-up company. She is a licensed CPA in California and Nevada. As a supervisor with MacFarlane Faletti & Co. LLP, she specializes in taxation for small businesses, not-for-profits, and high net worth individuals. In addition, she serves as Treasurer for United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierras.
DIANE M. RAVENSCROFT, CPA
Andrew is a manager with the firm and has over 8 years of accounting experience in the areas of real estate, taxation, and auditing, primarily with local businesses and not-for-profit organizations. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in the field of Economics and Business Administration from Westmont College. He serves on the Board of an international nonprofit and currently co-chairs the Santa Barbara Community Prayer Breakfast. Andrew is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of CPA’s (CalCPA).
ANDREW J. TRICERRI, CPA
Jo is a staff accountant, having been with the firm since early 2017. Originally from the island of Maui, Hawaii, he earned an Associates in Economics from Santa Barbara City College, along with a Bachelor’s in Economics and Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He currently specializes in income taxes and has prior experience in the areas of bookkeeping for small businesses.
JO SALAMACK, CPA
Melanie is a staff accountant with the firm, who began as an intern during tax season in 2019. As a Santa Barbara native she recently graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Economics & Accounting and also holds Associate degrees in Economics and Business Administration from Santa Barbara City College. She is currently in the process of studying and testing to become a Certified Public Accountant. She enjoys continuing to learn different aspects of public accounting every day.
Heather is a staff accountant with the firm, having over 20 years of bookkeeping experience and owned her own successful bookkeeping business focusing on individuals and small businesses. Born and raised in the Santa Ynez Valley, Heather graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management with a Marketing concentration. She is currently enrolled at University of California, Santa Barbara, certification program in Professional Accounting in preparation for the CPA exam.
